Independent Recording Artist Offers Houston and Texas Companies a Novel Promotional Opportunity

Jennifer Grassman Reinvents the Wheel of Business in the Music Industry, and Subsequently Gives Local Companies a Marketing Leg Up

Houston, TX – October 12, 2009 – With the economy in recession many companies are looking for innovative and low-cost ways to acquire effective local and online marketing and promotion. One Houston based singer-songwriter has employed her artistic gene to create just such an opportunity, offering Houston and Texas based companies a unique and cost-effective way to expose millions of music lovers, business owners, and entrepreneurs to their brand.

This November, Jennifer Grassman will release her third album, setting in motion an extensive marketing campaign ranging from music critic album reviews to appearances on major television networks touting her new business model and upcoming west coast tour.  Grassman, recently interviewed on www.SmallBizBee.com, spoke about her entrepreneurial life as a recording artist, and how she survives as an independent without the traditional financial backing of a record label.

Not limiting herself to the entertainment media for publicity, Grassman’s unique business model is slated for evaluation by business journalists and news organizations both locally and nationally, and includes album reviews by celebrities and public figures, including Kim Ogg (past Executive Director of Houston Crime Stoppers, now attorney at Ogg Law Firm) and Alyssa Gardina of The Women’s Museum in Dallas (a Smithsonian affiliate), among others.

To fund her musical endeavors, Grassman invites Houston and Texas based companies to sponsor her upcoming album, Serpent Tales & Nightingales. The album’s musical style is comparable to that of Sarah McLachlan or Tori Amos, is family friendly, and stylistically consistent with Grassman’s debut album, At The Back Of The North Wind. The single from that album, inspired the 2008 Dances With Film’s award-winning music video, Pretty Girls, by ZenFilm.

Sponsorship opportunities range from $500 to $5,000 and award the sponsor a smorgasbord of under priced marketing perks, including prominent logo placement on Grassman’s album packaging, tour posters, website, online marketing graphics, CD release party programs, mention in press releases, a company presence at the CD Release Party in February 2010 (including PA thanks), free tickets to said concert, and a free live performance at the company Christmas Party or other private event. “Compare this to a full color printed ad campaign in a city newspaper, and you’ll see why the media finds these alternative business methods so buzz worthy,” says Grassman.

The Serpent Tales & Nightingales CD is set to release in mid November.  The sponsorship deadline is November 1 in order to insure logo inclusion in album packaging.
